ESE & IFFA 2010
During the European Seafood Exposition in Brussels and the IFFA in Frankfurt we were happy to meet many of our customers and new contacts.
At the Seafood Expositions much attention was raised for the innovative range of products developed for formed and sliceable cooked fish products. Due to the positive interest in our fish applications we will devote a website-special entirely to the respective fish applications. During the IFFA many visitors have visited our booth. Highlights were the applications for the RTP (Revo portioning) formed products. These applications deliver a natural structure and excellent binding capacity and a better yield. Also considerable interest was shown for Clean Label products. These types of applications are completely in line with nowadays trends and quality requirements.

TNO and Vaessen-Schoemaker have joined forces to reduce salt levels in meat products
TNO and Vaessen-Schoemaker have started the next phase of a study targeting a salt reduction of 50% in meat products. The results of this study should contribute to lowering the daily intake of salt. Health authorities are emphasizing the need for consumers to reduce their salt consumption, and that of sodium in particular. The function of salt in meat products is not only to improve taste, but also to improve shelf life and texture.
